Prof. (GTU / Georgia) Dr. phil. Dipl. sc. pol. Stephan J. Lang has been admitted as an attorney in Munich since 1994. After completing a double degree in law and political science, he undertook his legal clerkship in the legal department of the former Bayerische Vereinsbank in Munich and Paris. He subsequently worked as a business lawyer at the renowned law firm King & Spalding in New York. After completing his doctorate, Prof. Lang worked as a lawyer at the Federal Ministry of Defense and as a project manager at the University of the German Armed Forces. Research visits have taken him to Rome, Washington and Harvard University. Since 2002, he has been a visiting lecturer in commercial law at the Georgian Technical University in Tbilisi, where he was appointed visiting professor in 2013. He is also a founding member of the Swiss business and strategy consultancy SCPA. His professional focus is on inheritance and inheritance tax law, which he increasingly handles internationally – in particular in collaboration with partners in Italy, France, Spain and, since 2010, in the Middle East. At the end of 2015, he opened his own offices in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. There, in addition to commercial law, he focuses on international succession planning, asset structuring and tax structuring advice. Since 2010, Prof. (GTU / Georgia) Dr. Stephan J. Lang has headed the Legal Department at Dubai Business Consulting, where he strategically contributes his extensive legal expertise to cross-border mandates.
